This pop up exhibition was my final project for my Artist in Residence role at the Moreland City Council, and told the story of the environmental history of the site of Coburg Farmers Market – the senior playground of Coburg Primary School. The display popped up at Coburg Farmers Market in late December 2020, and provided market shoppers with intriguing stories about the site of their regular Saturday morning outing. The display format was nine recyclable A2 posters, pegged to a marquee, plus a rose bush. The images and stories come from Coburg Historical Society, school archives and publications, and other sources. Coburg Primary School was the site of the first plant nursery created to establish gardens at Victorian State Schools, around 1911. Thanks to Nicky from MCC for poster layout.
